Hello, I am new to dotProject and intend to use the software to manage volunteers for a High School Band with about 80 students. To use a project management package in a school environment will definitely require a jargon translation which was finished this evening. This thread will be used to document the conceptual shifts and the resulting translation. Having never used this package I made a some guesses as to what some of the original terms were used for so some testing is required before posting the translation. The installed en locale files were used as a base.
Name of translation: en_USHS (English US High School) Jargon translation and concept changes: (may change during testing) Roles CEO => Principal Branch Manager => Vice Principal Manager => Chair Person Supervisor => Coordinator Contacts retain the term 'contacts' within the contact module but are referred to as 'coordinators' in other modules Organizational Company => Program (e.g. Band program) Client => Fund (e.g. equipment fund) Department retains the term Projects Projects => Events Events => Meetings Tickets Ticket => Request Client => Requester |
