We would like to run dotProject on the latest version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES. That distribution includes Apache 2.0.46-32 and PHP 4.3.2. Now according to the documentation on your site:
"Apache2 is only recommended at release 2.0.49 or later combined with PHP4.3.5 or later. Earlier releases or releases combined with earlier versions of PHP may have problems and are not supported. "
So, of course, I attempted to upgrade to later versions. This turned out to be a HUGE pain in the a&%. So, I was wondering how much using the above versions would be a problem.
Are there any known dotProject installations using the versions that come with RHEL?
How serious are the potential issues?
Because, basically, if it's just a couple annoying but not critical issues, we may be willing to risk it. If it's serious stuff, then we may need to take this in another direction.
Thanks for any help/advice you can give!
