hi
i have newly using in dot project , its working fine but i have some confusion in user roles and permission settings.

i have create new users and add permission given in one modules but i want that user also can access another module. how can i give the access permission in multiple modules

this is the very urgent please any one help quick

You don't say whether you have read the documentation:

But check out the standard role that comes with the system - project worker - as this includes access to all non-admin modules.

which explains what modules are included in what groupings

And the permissions that are available are documented on the same page.

Other than that you can clearly see what the defaults are on the project worker role in the UI

If you are trying to set up your own role or assign permissions on a user by user basis, from scratch, then YOU must set the permissions you need on the required modules.

How that is done is explained at in the sections dotProject Roles, Applying Roles to Users and Modifying Roles at the User Level on the page:

ok fine , now i can choose item in users permission but i cant choose items. its says no list associated with this module

how can do this option please help

You need to choose a module, some modules don't have items associated, others do. Which module are you trying to select an item from?

i have choose user administrator module and selected particular user ok
then i loged to that user login and see the dropdown menu in owner its display all users and users names

I need that user owner name only and we can access and view particular projects only what can i do?

I could be rather flippant and say that the ones that show a list of items are the ones that have items, but I would guess you wouldn't get the joke.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way around, if you want to limit projects then you limit projects, not users. You really need to spend some time in the documentation and looking at other posts in the forums, or even, hey this is a wild idea, trying some things out.

I was prepared to cut you some slack on the bumping as you are a new member - but creating another post with just this question is pushing your luck. Read the forum rules please and while you are at it - read the documentation.

Everything you are asking is in on the documentation site or can be resolved with a little experimentation / time from yourself - if you're not prepared to take the time to help yourself, then at least have the courtesy of waiting until somebody has time to handfeed you.
