I would like to be able to place users into specific departments within our company such that they can create and modify projects/tasks/calendar events/forums/files/even companies, BUT can only see those objects that have been created by users in their department.
AND
I would like all users to be members of a "general" department within our company so that they have access to objects classified as "general" items.
Is this possible with dotProject?
I realize that I could simply create separate companies to accomplish most or possibly all of this by limiting users access to their "company" and a "general company", but then when they create new companies that are their clients, they loose access to those. Thus, it seems logical to apply these restrictions at the departmental level which is how we operate in reality.
If someone has an answer for me, I would sure appreciate a more spelled out solution (i.e. set permissions moduleX->deny, all, etc.)
