View Full Version : User Access to "My Info"

I apologise if this seems like a stupid question but I've search the forum and Wiki and not found an answer.

I've just installed 2.1 and it seem to work beautifully however "normal" users, and I haven't customised anything ... yet, can't access "My Info".

They get an access error: Access Denied

You have attemped to access an item in dotproject without the sufficient permissions to do so. Please contact the dotproject System Administrator.

Sadly for them - I am the System Administrator and short of giving them all admin privileges, I can't figure out how to solve it.

"Normal" users have full access to all "Non-Admin" modules (Could a list of these modules by added to the wiki?) and the admin user has full access to "All" modules. My Info works fine for the admin user.

There are two modules that I've tried playing with.

First I added "Edit, Access & View" to the "User Administration" module. That put the "User Admin" menu on the user's page and allowed them to choose "My Info" and even "Edit User" - but they still can't edit their preferences.

Then I tried adding "Edit, Access & View" to the "User Table" module - but that seemed to have no effect whatsoever.

Can someone point out what I am missing?

Cheers!

Exactly same problem here, but for an upgrade.

I upgraded from 2.1rc2 to 2.1 and the above problem appeared.

So I suspected the upgrade.
After applying my backups, I checked 2.1rc2 where the problem is not existing.

Reapplying the upgrade brings the error back.

May be, You can either use 2.1rc2 (discoraged, looses db-connection often)
or wait until someone remembers his change in between 2.1rc2 and 2.1.
OK, you have to edit user preferences for your users in between.

Go to index.php and comment lines 221 to 223.

The problem with My Info not working has been resolved in 2.1.1

We'd strongly suggest that you upgrade to that - particularly if you have commented out the suggested lines as you will have a security issue as a result of that.
