Could dotproject be used for......

Hi!
I am considering setting up a web page that would allow musicians to collaborate online. Could dot project be set up to do that?

In other words, would it be possible to set up a BAND, and then define the PLAYERS and then allow the players to swap music files, chat, monitor the project etc. Could a BAND LEADER be set up for each band so that he or she can define who the players are, what they do / need to do etc? Could there be multiple bands so that Band A has there own area, and Band B has theirs?

Any input as to wheter dotproject could be used like this would be greatly appreciated!

Believe or not I was (and still am every once in a while) a guitar player.

As to your questions the answer is: Yes to all except for the chat (unless you mean chat trough forums instead of the IRC sense of the thing).

Thx for the reply. Hopefully some time this week I will have time to install it and start exprimenting. Hopefully its not too hard to administer - it looked a little daunting when I was in the admin demo....

Most of it is *incredibly* easy to manage.

One of the more difficult/powerful areas is the Permission system. Search the forums for tips though as many people have given detailed scenarios and information.
