how to change Gateway.pl to send Email in task?

I want to edit task and notify the assignment by Email.but it can not be work. Maybe I should change the gateway.pl to fit,but how? :?: :?
by the way,I have had changed the php.ini and I can send Email in tickets now.

gateway.pl is NOT used to send email. It is used by tickets to receive email. Sending email is done in modules/tasks/tasks.class.php. Email notifications are sent to everyone who is assigned to the task, except the person editing the task (as they already know this). 2.0 has expanded email options,

2.0 will be released at the end of the month, the upgrade will simply be to load the new code, and point your browser to the install directory and follow the prompts.
