The home of dotProject - the Open Source Project Management tool.
dotProject is a volunteer supported Project Management application. There is no "company" behind this project, it is managed, maintained, developed and supported by a volunteer group and by the users themselves.
For more about the product, what it does, etc please follow the links to the doc site at the top of site.
The software is free to anyone who would like to download it. Day to day support is provided free by volunteers.
If you would like to see the system in operation - use the Demo link in the modules list to the left top of the site.
If you would like to download the package use the downloads link on the top right. Please be aware that the CVS snapshot is guaranteed to be UNSTABLE and should not be used on a production site or if you are not willing to have to do some work at the code level.
If you are looking for support, to ask a question or to check to see if issues have been raised by others - use the support link at the top right to access our support forums. PLEASE do not send Private Messages to the site admins or other participants on the site - this just means that you are trying to jump the priority queue, that any answers you received are selfishly then not shared with the rest of the user community OR that you may ask the wrong person who cannot help you. Priority Support is available at a cost - login to the support forums and use your UserCP from there to Subscription details and pricing.
If you have a bug or a Feature Suggestion that you would like to log - use the bugs link at the top right of the site. PLEASE check that the issue hasn't been logged before to save your hardworking admin a lot of time and trouble. Mantis has recently been updated to include multiple projects - use the drop down list at the top right hand side of the screen in the bug tracker to select the correct project as per the news article on the front of the Bugs and Suggestions system.
If you are looking for documentation, hints and tips - please use the doc site link at the top right. Please DO NOT use comments either here or on the documentation site, to ask questions or raise issues - the chances of anybody finding your comment are pretty remote because that's what the forums are for.

Some will have noticed but others may not be aware that we've switched on a new documentation site, which is a substantial rewrite of the old site content and layout.
The site is still not quite finished, but it's got a lot of useful content on it already and a link to the old site if you hit one of the areas that we're still working on.

More and more developers are using development tools produced by the open source community like JUnit, MySQL, Eclipse, PHP or JBoss. A recent poll asked to compare the quality of open source and commercial software development tools. And the winner is... not obvious ;o)
A new release of dotProject has been released today. Version 2.0.4 fixes a XSS (Cross Site Scripting) vulnerability in the handling of the login parameter, which may allow an attacker using a carefully constructed URL to gain information, such as cookie details, from a user's session.
This release also fixes a problem with upgrading from versions prior to 2.0.1. More information can be found in the ChangeLog on the dotProject download page.
We've had to move the upgrade of the website up in priority. Apologies but this means that language packs and other elements won't be available for until Tuesday Australian time whilst we catch up with the finishing touches.
In the meantime, some of the menu items have been moved to the top right hand side of the screen.

Update as of 20th June - All available language packs have now been uploaded.
If you can't find a language pack for your own locale - why not consider producing one and sharing it with the community - the instructions on how to are in the Language Pack area. (To get to language packs use the link on the top right hand side of the site).
We now have an IRC channel for handling ad-hoc requests or simply to chat with other users and developers. Point your favourite IRC client to irc.freenode.net. The channel is #dotproject.
